January 10, 2014 – The recently released 2014 U.S. News & World Report review of U.S. online graduate business programs ranks the Fayetteville State University MBA program among the top 100 online graduate business programs in the nation and among the top 5 in the state of North Carolina. As noted by USN&WR in its announcement,

“Online education is becoming a popular option for both students completing an undergraduate degree and working adults seeking career advancement. These are the best online master’s in business degree programs, based on factors such as level of accreditation, reputation for excellence among peer institutions, and academic and career support services offered to students.”

Dr. Assad Tavakoli, Dean of the School of Business and Economics (SBE) at Fayetteville State University, noted that,

“We place a high priority on serving the needs of students through leading edge distance learning options, including telepresence capabilities that enable students to participate in real-time class discussions in any MBA course from any location with Internet access. We also record those classes for students who are unable to participate real-time, or for those who would like to be able to review lectures at a later point in time. These investments in flexible student learning delivery capabilities also previously resulted in our MBA program being named a finalist by the MBA Roundtable organization for the 2012 Innovator Award. We are honored by this latest ranking by U.S. News & World Report and appreciate the recognition of the high quality of FSU’s MBA program.”

The University was also recently ranked by Military Times as the top school in North Carolina and among the best in the country for veterans. The School of Business and Economics (SBE) is accredited by AACSB International and the faculty is ranked among the top 100 business schools in the US by Social Science Research Network.

The reasons for all these awards?

Students frequently cite the well-regarded faculty, the committed classmates, real world applications, and the opportunity for high quality interaction through both virtual and traditional means as key factors in choosing to pursue their MBA degrees at FSU.

In addition, the FSU MBA program is designed to be responsive to student needs by providing:

  • Real tools for the real world, with education focused on applying leading edge theory to practical business situations.
  • Experiential diversity—including diversity of staff and student body to better prepare graduates for today’s increasingly multi-cultural, interconnected world.
  • Small class sizes, facilitating personal attention and interaction between faculty and students.
  • High quality faculty
  • Affordability
  • AACSB accreditation.

It’s all designed around the practical needs of our students, to provide lasting value in their careers.
